Terms & Condition
1. Definitions
“Contract” means the agreement between British Lofts and the Customer for the works described in the quotation. “Works” means the loft boarding and associated services. “Customer” means the person accepting the quotation.
2. Formation of Contract
The Contract is formed when the Customer approves the quotation via Jobber or in writing. By approving, theCustomer enters a legally binding agreement and agrees to pay the deposit.
3. Pre-Contract Information
The Customer confirms receipt of the Pre-Contract Information Pack prior to acceptance. This Contract is subject to the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
4. Survey Disclaimer
All surveys are visual and non-invasive. They are used to prepare quotations based on visible conditionsonly. British Lofts does not undertake structural surveys or intrusive inspections and is not liable for hidden defects.
5. Price & Payment
A 30% deposit is payable upon acceptance. The balance is due immediately upon completion. British Lofts may charge interest at 8% above Bank of England base rate on overdue sums and recover costs. Warranty may be suspended until paid.
6. Cancellation Rights
Customers have a 14-day cooling-off period. Cancellation terms apply depending on timing: full refund before materials, material cost deduction after ordering, proportionate cost after work starts, no refund after completion.
7. Access & Site Conditions
Customer must provide safe access and clear the loft. British Lofts may charge abortive visit fees and recover costs if unable to proceed.
8. Unforeseen Conditions
If hidden issues are discovered, British Lofts may pause work, revise quotation or decline to proceed if unsafe. Additional costs must be agreed before continuation.
9. Variations
Any variation must be agreed, recorded, and priced before work proceeds. British Lofts is not obliged to carryout additional works.
10. Use of Loft
Installation is for light domestic storage only. Heavy or concentrated loads are not permitted. Loads must be evenly distributed.
11. Structural Limitation
The installation does not increase structural capacity and does not make the loft habitable.
12. Customer Belongings
The installation does not increase structural capacity and does not make the loft habitable.
13. Liability
British Lofts is liable only for negligence. Not responsible for pre-existing issues or structural movement. Liability capped at £1,000,000.
14. Insulation & Performance
System is designed to maintain insulation performance. No guarantees on energy efficiency or condensation.
15. Completion
Works are complete upon practical completion and customer sign-off. Final payment becomes due at this point.
16. Warranty
Lifetime Warranty applies as a separate document forming part of the Contract.
17. Structural Limitation

18. Governing Law
This Contract is governed by the laws of England and Wales.
