Lifetime Installation Warranty
1. Overview
This warranty forms part of your contract with British Lofts and provides clear, fair and transparent protection for your loft installation.
2. Workmanship (Lifetime)
We provide a lifetime workmanship warranty covering defects arising from installation of loft boarding, access systems, non-structural timber strengthening, and LED lighting. This applies for the lifetime of the installed system, provided it remains in place and unaltered.
3. Products
Products supplied are covered by manufacturer warranties where applicable. British Lofts will reasonably assist in accessing these warranties.
4. Definition of Lifetime
Lifetime means the period during which the installed system remains in place, unaltered, and used in accordance with this warranty. This warranty is non-transferable.
5. Use of Loft (Important)
This installation is designed for light domestic storage only. Suitable items include boxes, suitcases and seasonal household items. The system must not be used for heavy, concentrated or excessive loads including gym equipment, water tanks, appliances or building materials. Load should be evenly distributed across the boarded area.
6. Structural Limitation
This installation does not increase the structural load capacity of the ceiling joists and does not convert the loft into a habitable space. The loft must not be used as a living area.
7. Customer Responsibilities
To maintain this warranty, you must not overload the loft, alter the installation, block ventilation, compress insulation, and must allow access for inspection. Issues must be reported promptly.
8. What Is Not Covered
This warranty does not cover misuse, overloading, third-party alterations, pre-existing defects, condensation or damp caused by property conditions or ventilation changes, cosmetic issues, or general wear and tear.
9. Definition of Defect
A defect means a fault in installation workmanship that materially affects the normal use of the loft system.
10. Claims Process
Contact hello@british-lofts.co.uk with details and photos. We aim to acknowledge your claim within a reasonable timeframe and arrange inspection where required.
11. Right to Inspect and Remedy
You must allow British Lofts the opportunity to inspect and remedy any issue before engaging third parties.
Costs incurred without prior agreement will not be covered.
12. Remedies
Where a valid claim is confirmed, we will repair or replace the affected area at our discretion. No refunds are provided.
13. Completion & Sign-Off
This warranty applies following completion of the works and customer sign-off confirming satisfaction with the installation.
14. General
This warranty operates alongside your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and does not limit those rights.
